Met Diana Krall, and she is just as classy in person

She was buying a bunch of stuff for her babies and husband at the store where I'm working for the summer. She was really, really nice and friendly, and very laid back, talkative... not a whiff of stardom or diva-like attitude at all. I had no idea it was her until I saw her credit card, and then my mouth just fell open. She immediately seemed embarrassed and uncomfortable, like she hadn't wanted to be recognized, so I tried to pretend she wasn't Diana Krall and treated her like any other customer. I didn't say a word about her career or gush at her or anything and that seemed to make her happy. I just thought I'd share, even though it's a pretty mundane story. :)

You mean you had her right there with pen in hand and didn't ask for a bunch of autographs you can then sell on e-bay?

I would have been very tempted to "lose" the credit card receipt with her signature...

...good story.
Seven or eight years ago, ('99/'00), I'd love to have heard that tale
from the DJK fanatics from that era...
