Richard Carpenter Thinks Highly of DK

Some of us recently mentioned our memories of Karen Carpenter. Interesting quote from her brother:

Carpenter named two singer-songwriters whose talents he considered authentic: Norah Jones and Diana Krall. He also said the singing styles of Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Petula Clark, Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin had inspired him.

I think that is high praise from such a musical icon. Those who have followed the Carpenters might recall that Richard was also a jazz musician with a trio before The Carpenters went big.
