Diana's career arc
Hi, everyone.
This thread idea has been in my head for a while...and I thought I'd put it out there.
I'm fascinated by Diana's career arc over the past few years and I'd be interested to hear what other fans think.
I know Diana hasn't created a record lately that feature her own vocals. But she has been expanding her "job skills" to include producing Barbra Streisand's album and playing piano and doing small-group arrangements for Sir Paul's latest album.
I'm a writer, and when writers change direction for a while, it's like a sabbatical or, using a metaphor, to let your field go fallow for a while. And as a mom, I know I changed direction a bit when my kids were little so that I could spend more time with them.
I'll be interested to see where Diana will go next when she does another album with her own music up front and center. And as much as I like Claus Ogerman, I also enjoyed Johnny Mandel's contributions on the WILIYE album...and was intrigued that Mandel was also involved in Sir Paul's latest album. I wonder if this gives Diana any ideas for her next album?
So, fellow fans...let's open the speculation gate!
