The price of love

Apparently, Rémi is not the only one concerned about the ticket price for Diana's upcoming concerts.

Excerpt from The Boston Globe:

The price of love

Go! likes Berklee-schooled jazz singer-pianist Diana Krall as much as the next urban sophisticate and certainly recommends her undulating, sultry music for late nights with the one you love. And Go! respects the idea that she and Elvis Costello -- who wrote six songs on her latest disc, "The Girl in the Other Room" -- are so in love, though we feel bad (we think) for El's ex, former Pogues bassist Caitlin O'Riordan. But Go! took a look at the top ticket price of $75 for tonight's show at the FleetBoston Pavilion and went "Whoa, Nellie!" (This, at a time when the concert business is down and ticket agencies are slashing Madonna ticket prices from face value to get rid of 'em.) So, we rang up the locals at promoting Clear Channel and spoke with booker Jim Ahearne about the pricing. Said he: "It's in line with her tickets at other venues on her tour. Some [ticket prices] top out a little bit lower, but for the most part those are bigger venues. It's an expensive production. As far as her draw goes, it's terrific. Clearly, Diana Krall is a real A-list artist, and both her talent and commercial appeal is first class." Clear Channel expects to come close to a sell-out on this one, which raises one question: What does Go! know, anyway? The 39-year-old Krall, whose new disc debuted at No. 4 on Billboard's chart, will be backed by a three-piece band. Ollabelle opens. 7:30 p.m. Tickets sell for as low as $45.

That is exactly why I am not going. I can afford the tickets, but I simply refuse to pay what they are charging for tickets... I would end up with a small fortune invested by the time I paid for tickets, gas and the babysitter. :x

I'm not going either because I can't afford the outrageous ticket price. I went on the cheap last time and got dizzy because we were so high above and far away from the stage. I'm afraid it will be a very long time before I ever get to see her perform live again. :(

high prices!

I'm undecided yet if i want to spend close to $300.00 (the main price on ebay now) to go to her concert at the Greek Theater but most likely i won't be going because of that price. :(
