Last night, we ran into none other than Elvis Costello, his pregnant wife Diana Krall, and Costello’s mum at a performance of the extraordinary musical version of “Billy Elliott” at the Victoria Palace Theater.
Costello (real name Declan McManus) and Krall were celebrating Mrs. McManus’ birthday. Diana, who’s “showing,” as they say, was also radiant.

Diana Krall & Elvis Costello

AVENUE OF THE AMERICAS AT W 12TH ST

Jul 30th, 2006 @ 6pm

Elvis Costello dressed in jeans and a country hoe-down shirt (when it was still 90 degrees) carrying like 8 citarella bags & a (pregnant?) Diana Krall. She's pretty and Elvis didn't let her carry 1 bag! Elvis Costello:Poster boy for chivalry.

Well, she is carrying Elvis' child!

But I love chivalry. Kudos to Elvis.

I had a look at that Manhattan Gawker home page. The best is at the bottom, a little drawing featuring 2 dogs.

One dog, obviously the more experienced, is sitting on a chair at a computer, slightly turned towards the other who is somewhat smaller and looking up to him from the floor.
The bigger one goes "On internet, nobody knows you're a dog"

Diana and Elvis co-wrote the songs on her new disc From This Moment On

Huh?!?!

Glowing mum-to-be Diana Krall and husband Elvis Costello were back on the Shipbuilding singer's home turf this week, where they were spotted dining out at the Ivy Restaurant in London.

With her nascent bump cleverly concealed in a lightweight black frock and wearing comfy ballerina flats, the sultry Canadian jazz singer was looking radiant and is clearly enjoying her pregnancy.

Having recently completed a world tour, Diana is taking a well-deserved break in her spouse's native England. And the UK is likely to hold a special place in the chanteuse's heart, as it was here that she and Elvis tied the knot in 2003, making their vows in a romantic ceremony at Elton John’s home just outside Windsor.

Costello junior won't be the couple's the first co-production, however. Diana and Elvis co-wrote the songs on her new disc From This Moment On, out in September. And, according to the Canadian beauty, the album reflects this happier time in her life. "I think it’s obvious in the music," she says. "It reflects how I'm feeling now, the joy I have in my marriage and family."

The very pregnant Diana Krall was attending a bash to mark Tony Bennett's 80th birthday and let slip that she's developed a hankering for pickled onions.

PREGNANT KRALL NEEDS TO SLOW DOWN

DIANA KRALL

Pregnant jazz star DIANA KRALL is being urged to slow down by friends and family, four months before the birth of her first child. The Canadian singer and husband ELVIS COSTELLO are looking forward to the birth, but Krall admits she hates doing nothing for nine months. She says, "Now I'm having my own family which is freaking me out. "I've just been on an incredible tour... oh my God, I'm pregnant on top. "One night we were swinging really hard and I was thinking, 'How's this for the baby?' And JOHN CLAYTON (bassist) says, 'What are you gonna do? Swing him to death?' "Then I'm thinking I should be going to yoga classes, but playing and singing every night is probably a really good thing because you are doing the breathing and expressing all these emotions. "(It's time to slow down) even if I wasn't having the baby."

Jr. is gonna probably have a killer swing sense. Being around all that wonderful bass and hearing Mommy's voice all the time coupled with the percussive piano key strokes, it'll have to be second nature.

Victoria...I assume you were joking when you wrote about "doing nothing" for nine months!

Diana Krall Beat Media To Pregnancy Announcement

Diana KrallJazz singer Diana Krall had no qualms about announcing her pregnancy with twins to the press because she wanted to tell the world before gossip journalists started speculating. The 41-year-old wife of Elvis Costello made the announcement in a press release last month, but she still can't believe how rapidly the news spread.

She says, "We made our statement so that people wouldn't start speculating. We said it, it's out there and it's happy news. I thought we'd just put out a press release and maybe AP would it pick it up, then Elvis told me he saw it on the CNN news ticker! I can't quite believe it."

The babies will arrive just in time for the couple's third wedding anniversary on December 6.

So, anyway, it turns out that Elvis Costello was at the show last night, but he had to leave before we went on. Oh, and Mary Margaret O'Hara was at the Toronto gig. Just saying.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Surely there's only one thing that could drag Elvis away early from a gig......................I hope all is well.

Michael J. Fox Rocks with Sheryl Crow, Axl Rose at Fundraiser

Michael J. Fox raised more than $5 million for his Foundation for Parkinson's Research at a Beatles-themed fundraiser in Manhattan on Saturday night, thanks to a crowd that included emcee Denis Leary, Sheryl Crow, Martin Scorsese, Muhammad Ali, Famke Janssen, Rob Thomas and Susan Sarandon.

Elvis Costello attended with wife Diana Krall, who's due to give birth in December. "But it's twins," said Krall, "so maybe sooner!"
