Things are looking good, Bud. Diana will play 2 shows at Place des Arts in Montréal on May 6th and 7th. Both shows will feature a symphony orchestra. Tickets go on sale this Saturday.

Edit

A little bit more information taken from the Festival international de jazz de Montréal's website:

Diana Krall - May 6 and 7, 8 p.m., Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier de la PdA - With all due respect to Mr. Costello, Diana Krall is enjoying a genuine love affair with this Festival! Since her dazzling breakthrough in Montreal in 1995, Diana Krall has visited us a number of times, but hasn’t played here since 2004. All will remember that appearance, when she starred in the Festival’s 25th anniversary gala, at the Centre Bell, a memorable evening subsequently immortalized on DVD! This year, the world’s most popular female jazz singer/pianist finally returns, this time to Place des Arts, where she will expand her usual accompaniment to include a symphony orchestra. It’s an all-new show, and the rumour slipping out of Rio de Janeiro, where she recorded her forthcoming 2009 album, is that we can expect a masterpiece!

Damn! So you know where I was in early May of this year? Stage-managing some jazz shows at Southam Hall, hanging out with Diana’s high school band teacher in the National Arts Centre Green Room... Either I’m a year early or she’s a year late
