A quick note...

Hello everyone,

A quick note to inform you all that I will not renew the website dedicated to Diana Krall as I was doing during the past years.
For too long now, I have not had time to fully take care of the website - and as I would have liked to, surely coupled with a personal demotivation - by leaving the forum section only , which, from a personal point of view, does not reflect the status of our favorite jazzwoman.

The forum will therefore stop himself early May. I will take this opportunity to make a full backup if it can be useful.

Obviously, I will continue to follow Diana as the fan I am, but it is time for me to hand over.

Anyway, I'm still reachable on facebook for those of you who would like to keep in touch.

Thanks again.

Sorry to hear this.

Thank you for everything, Remi. Its been fun.

I guess we now look to you, Bud. As I told you in an email, every now and then I'd be willing to throw a few bucks your way for hosting a new site. I think all that's really needed are the DK news and concert forums. The rest of the forums haven't seen new posts in ages.

Thanks, Remi, for all you've done over the years, and "picking up the ball" and running with it after the previous forum closed. I understand these sites are a labor of love and can take a lot of free time to maintain, so it's understandable when people may need to realign their time commitments.

I know traffic on the site has slowed down over the years, so your decision is very understandable. In my opinion, I think the change occurred because of several factors. First, all of us fans have different time availability than we did ten-plus years ago. Second, after Diana got married and started a family, she's done fewer interviews overall. Obviously, her priorities have changed as well. And as she's become more well known, perhaps her publicity people haven't urged her to do as much as press as she did before 2003. So there have been fewer articles to post and discuss here. And with the advent of YouTube, we can now see videos of Diana that were much harder to view in the early 2000s...so we could find them and view them here.

Also, thanks, Bud, for moderating the site as well over the last several years. I appreciate your efforts to keep things going here. I've made a lot of virtual friends through this site over the years, and I've particularly enjoyed reading the concert reviews from fellow fans :) and having a place to share my concert reviews with people who I know would understand what I wrote about! :)

I'll be sad to see the site go, but I'm also happy that we fans will have something to look forward to with the new album slated for this fall. I'm glad that Diana is trying different things, whether it's the upcoming pop album, or her behind-the-scenes involvement with producing for Barbra Streisand and Paul McCartney, or her unconventional stage production for the Glad Rag Doll tour.

Maybe we'll all still find another way to reconnect "on the flip side" of the site closure!

Love to all of our fan members!

I'll add my thanks to Remi too for establishing the site after Paul Nish moved on, and keeping it going after that! A lot has changed, as Coda points out, since all this started. Facebook and Twitter have probably taken their toll, too.

If you want to reach me, I can be contacted at dianakrallfan1(AT)gmail(dot)com.

Also, I've created a placeholder location for any additional announcements. No promises on any particular future, though: http://dianakrall.tumblr.com.

Finally, I do have a complete backup of the site. I use an app called "Sitesucker" if you want to try making one for yourself.

Best wishes and thanks for your support of the site over all these years, and of course, Diana!
