Note to Bud: Next season we should have a dedicated NFL thread. I think we have some football fans around here.

Wrong again. Shows you what I know. But in my defense, both the DEN and SEA losses were the closest of the weekend.
I didn't see either of the Sunday games, but after watching highlights this morning, I'm going with...
49ers over Falcons, by a hair. This Atlanta D is suspect, and though they'll be at home in a dome, I think they'll fall apart late in the game. Drunk driver Harbaugh celebrates by pounding a fifth of Jack Daniels, and then mowing-down someone's child or spouse in a crosswalk.
Patriots beat Ravens, barely. After the contest, an enraged Ray Lewis stabs Bill Belichick.
SuperBore: SF vs NE
Winner: Too close to call, though Brady has lost two SuperBores. Could he possibly blow three? Very likely, if this Pumpernickel cat keeps playing like he did Saturday. Though I still can't decide if he was that good...or the Packers D was that bad.
No bets for me. Playoffs are too unpredictable. Though I did win some nice cash during the regular season.

You missed the chance to watch a fine weekend of football! The comebacks by Seattle (even though they lost) and Baltimore were impressive. And the NIners offensive show lead by Colin Kaepernick was historic by any measure. The Denver game was historic too, as Peyton managed to lose another playoff game.
I think the Niners have a better chance of beating Atlanta than Seattle. Seahawks and Niners know each other too well. The Ravens could find a way to beat NE. The Harbaugh brothers have a chance to face each other in New Orleans.
Very happy the NY Giants didn't make the playoffs.

Oh no. As I said, I saw all of the Broncos-Ravens game (exciting!), and most of the Niners-Packers (fun for 3 qtrs). It was the other games I missed.
I will be watching Sunday. Though must say, I'm tired of the NFL's sissy rules: flags flying everywhere for what used to be legit hits. In the old days, it was "Nice tackle." Now it's a 15-yard penalty. Ugh. I'm guessing the NFL has maybe 5-7 years before all these new rules (with more to come, certainly) render it unwatchable. Even back in the late 90s I remember the great Hunter S. Thompson (a huge football fan) writing: "These days the NFL is about as exciting as watching a road paving project." Imagine what he'd say now with 20 silly penalties per game.
You could be right about the Ravens. But I'm sticking with a NE vs SF SuperBore.

Bud, maybe you missed my earlier question:
Does Barry Bonds belong in the HOF? Or not?
If you were a voting member of the Baseball Writers, would you vote for him?
I can't wait to see how you dance around this one.

If Barry Bonds could make the HOF based on the career he had before the questionable era - which he probably could - then yes. But I'd like to see Pete Rose get in first.

See, I knew you wouldn't let me down, Bud.
Questionable era?!
HA!
Jesus man, did you believe Lance Armstrong too?
Well, to convince you I guess it'll take Barry sitting down with Oprah and confessing.
Mark my words, it's coming...one of these days.
You know it is.
No way an egomaniac like Barroid can stand to be kept out of the HOF.
Until then, we're talking about Bonds' ENTIRE career.
None of this pre-questionable era nonsense.
Do you vote him in?
Yes or no?

So it shall be the Harbaugh SuperBore. OK. I already have a few straight-up bets (no points) on the 49ers to win; wagers made with people at my Championship BBQ.
Bud, that Pumpernickel bastard better not cost me money.
I won't see the big game. In fact, you couldn't pay me to watch these 800-pound morons, criminals, rapists, retards, roiders, egomaniacs and common thugs run into each other, not while I'll be in beautiful Hawaii. I'll record the game, and maybe watch it when I get home.
Bud, good luck to your Niners. I need them to win.
Also, Bud, don't try to skirt my Bonds question with your 49ers gloating.
Bonds. ENTIRE career. HOF, yes? Or no?
