If you missed it live in the summer, here's another opportunity to catch the historic Oscar/Oliver show from the 2004 Montreal Jazz Fest. The show was over 2 hours, and they're cutting it down here, but that's better than nothing. Oh, and perhaps they'll show that tune Mr. Jones composed for DK - Waltz for Diana, I think it was called. Anyway, this is not to be missed.

Opening Night

8pm

Oscar Peterson and Oliver Jones at the Montreal International Jazz Festival - The closing concert of the 25th Anniversary of the Festival featuring two native sons and their trios. Although Oliver went into retirement in the year 2000, he nonetheless accepted this invitation to share the bill for this occasion with old friend Oscar Peterson. So there's a good chance they'll be talking about this performance 25 years from now.

Also not to be missed - the CBC Archives of Oscar Peterson, with extensive interviews - No.6 is particularly fun; all about playing practical jokes on Ray Brown....also, No.1 about his early studies in classical music. No. 8 is a great little concert with Herb Ellis on guitar, Ray Brown on bass, and Jeff Hamilton on drums.

Also, check out CBC Archives on Bill Reid
