jazzharp
Bud's comment on his jazz find at a local hotspot made me think of my recent concert attendance.
Tuesday night I went and heard Park Stickney in concert. He is a jazz harpist- the BEST in the business. He spends his time between Switzerland and New York. If you ever get a chance to hear him live, jump on it. It was incredible what he did on that harp. Now I realize that this may not appeal to anyone else but me, but you should give him a listen. http://www.jazzharp.com
The concert also featured some duos with celtic blues harpist Rudiger Opperman - who is also and ethno musicologist. It was some of the most interesting fascinating music. They covered Sting's " Message in a Bottle" Miles Davis' " So What" the jazz standard "Take 5" Duke Ellington's "Caravan." Anyway it was something else. So check out his website and bio. I took a masterclass workshop from him on Monday night and that was really interesting.
