I got a cd from Verve yesterday. I guess it is free. It just showed up unannounced. There wasn't even a note explaining why I got it or anything...just a cd in a manila envelope mailed from Enzo Schwartz of Universal Music Group in Santa Monica.

The title of the cd is Live your Life With Verve, A Summer state of Mind
The tracks are:
Sarah Vaughan, Fever
Paul Anka, It's My Life
Lizz Wright, Trouble
Jackie Greene, Honey, I Been thinking about You
Teddy Thompson, Everybody Move It
Brazliain Girls, Don't Stop
John Scofield, What'd I Say

These are tracks from various Verve releases. A track from DK would have been nice, but hey it was free

Oh, great songs from great CD's. It's all from new Verve's releases (I have all from weeks Lizz Wright is the best! An she sings "Narrow daylight", but not in American Edition)

yeah, i got that too.... i guess they are just sending it out to any and all on thier 'list'.... at first i thought i'd just toss it, but i gave it a listen......

that first cut, the remix cut of sarah vaughan doing 'fever', is a great way to start off a CD..... i really do like it......it does make me want to look into the CD it comes from (Verve Remixed 3) or check out which sarah vaughan CD that cut is on.....

i am not a big paul anka fan, so that one is just ok, not bad.... the liz wright cut i enjoyed..... jackie greene was an obvious reminder of early bob dylan - but certainly not up to dylan's level with this cut...... the teddy thompson and brazilian girls didn't make much of an impression..... i did enjoy the last song, john scofield's 'what i say'.....

overall, i will keep the CD and i guess it will have its desired effect in that i will most likely give a listen to a few of the CDs the cuts were taken from...

I love "I Don't Nedd No Doctor" from John Scofield's newest CD, great Ray Charles' song, sings by John Mayer, very good groove

I got a CD, too. I enjoyed it. I think it's because I signed up for some contest or maybe because I got the free CD with three DK Christmas songs after buying "Live in Paris." (Thanks again for clueing me in, Ann Marie!)

Yeah..i got one too!!...I took a listen to all the songs but didn't really like it so i tossed it.

Thanks for the offer, but I've got most of the songs already. I probably didn't get it because I don't remember registering with a mailing address.
