nice stuff, crash..!. . :D I listened to all of your songs carefully, and I have to say, my favourite was "You". BUt all the songs were equally cool.
You said that any remarks, either good or bad, would be accepted. So...The only thing I felt with one of the songs : "Hold on you" was that it got rather slow (tempo?) at times, but it still remains a nice acoustic piece. "Well, I don't know much about criticising music, all I do is to listen to it and see if I respond positively to it or not. On the whole, I did this time. keep it up!!! ;)

So i listened to some of "You" it was pretty good but melody reminded me alot of the song "She" that Elvis Costello sang on the Notting Hill soundtrack.

Those are cool songs, Crash.

I would be interested to know what you used to record them (I suppose it's Protools) and also the effects you used on the main guitar (the overdrive one).

thanks for listening remi

I have an old TASCAM analog 4 track cassette player that i got at a pawn shop for 60 bucks. It doesnt sound great but it does the trick to get things down so I dont forget them. I really wish I had about 24 tracks to play with but I do the best with what I have to work with. What are Protools?

I make the drum tracks from the different effects on an old casio keyboard. I have a pretty nice guitar and a small Fender champ amp that I can run directly into the 4 track. I have to mic the acoustic which never sounds right to me. The guitar effects all come from a foot pedal that I have with 80 different effect sounds on it. Other than that it's all trial and error. It's fun to play around with though.

thanks again for listening.

Well, those records sound quite good through a cassette player.

Protools is a professional software for digital audio recording and editing.
That's what I used during my sound engineering classes.
More infos ? Go here.

A friend pointed that out the other day as well. I didn't think about it before that but when he said that I immediatley saw the comparison. They are definately similar but I assure you it was unintentional. I love that song by EC as I am a huge Costello fan but I would never want to rip him off. I listened to both and the are different enough that I don't think I am going to get sued. As there are no royalties for me anyway I suppose that would be moot but yeah they do sound similar. The other fact of the matter is that EC's song is far superior to mine.

thanks for listening though

anytime

Most welcome, crash. But don't take my criticism too seriously, I only have but a layman's knowledge about how music is composed, arranged, etc.
Just think of me as a pleased audience.

Well, the records I did during my sound engineering classes were not my music, but from professional musicians.
We didn't keep any records because they were all awful...

Though, I have a couple of songs from my own on my PC, but there again, it sounds absolutely terrible.
