2007 Juno Noms

Diana's up for some Junos again this year. Awards will be on CTV in April, though I don't expect the jazz catagories on the telecast...

VOCAL JAZZ ALBUM OF THE YEAR

From this Moment On Diana Krall
Start to Move Elizabeth Shephard
Fight or Flight? Kellylee Evans
Calling For Rain Lori Cullen
Messin’ Around Molly Johnson

ARTIST OF THE YEAR

Diana Krall
Gregory Charles
Loreena McKennitt
Nelly Furtado
Pierre Lapointe

As much as I love DK, Pierre Lapointe is brilliant - and hilarious - and more than deserves that particular award. I'm an ardent Elizabeth Shephard fan as well, and I think she's stiff competition for Diana in the vocal category.

And, Diana's fellow Nanaimo-gal-turned-New-Yorker Ingrid Jensen is up for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.

This probably belongs to the Departure Bay forum - but since I had mentioned Elizabeth Shephard above, and have a soft spot for Maisonneuve (b/c I was an intern there once), and DK is in the title... here's an article -

Good for Diana. She had some excellent competition, with the likes of Molly Johnson being nominated in the same category.

Steve Greenlee: Ali Larter, the actress who plays Niki on the show (Heroes), could be your twin sister. She looks just like you.

Diana Krall: Poor thing.
