'Faint of Heart'

Postby gundy516 on 19 Aug 2007, 20:34

I just downloaded this song from itunes. Diana recorded this with Vince Gill for his 'These Days' album. I know they also performed it on The Grand Ol'Opry but I have not seen that particular show replay yet as it was done over a year ago or more. I love this song ... anyone else give a listen to it?

When Diana sang with Vince Gill at the Opry she also made a surprise appearance with a group named Riders in The Sky. I tried to download the pictures but the best I could do is get the web site. If you click on their photos/pictures section and select the Opry pictures I think you'll see Diana with them.

(If anyone can find an archive of the radio performance from that night it is worth listening to.)

Thanks for the pointer, Sue!

Here's a direct link to the gallery where you can spot Diana:

Also, here's the Grand Ole Opry article on the Vince Gill/Diana appearance:

http://www.opry.com/OpryNews/CoverStori ... eGill.aspx

An appearance by jazz vocalist Diana Krall, who joins Gill on “Faint of Heart,” was equally pleasing. “Honestly, I had her in mind the entire time Big Al [Anderson] and I were writing that song,” he says. “It was a big dream to have her on the record.” Just when it looked as if the schedules of the two artists were never going to be conducive to the pair meeting in the studio, Krall visited Nashville one Saturday last February when her husband Elvis Costello was making his Opry debut alongside Emmylou Harris. Gill and Krall got together early in the day, recorded the tune, then delighted a surprised Opry crowd that night by performing the song together in front of a live audience for the first time.
