Celine Dion Is Canada's Biggest Star

Celine Dion is officially Canada's biggest selling artist.

According to Canadian trade mag Applaud, Canada's top 10 acts have sold around 359 million units in the last decade, and Celine is responsible for 150 million of them.

Celine Dion at number one with sales of 150 million has sold more than double that of Shania Twain, the artist at number two with 70 million.

Next down the list is Alanis Morissette. She earned third place for sales of 45 million. In fact, the top 5 Canadian acts are female. Avril Lavigne is number four with 20 million and Sarah McLachlan is at number 5 with 19 million.

The remainder of the Top 10, according to Applaud, rounds off with Nickelback at number 6 with 17 million, Diana Krall at number 7 with 11.5 million, Barenaked Ladies at number 8 with 11 million, Nelly Furtado at 9 with 6 million and a tie for 10th spot between Sum 41 and Our Lady Peace, both on 5 million.
