Me and Douglas Wolk are gonna share some words should we happen to meet one day.

Funny how two people can be completely at odds with one another in taste and opinion.

Wolk states as if it were Gospel truth (and all the rest are blind if they cannot see it) that 'I'm Pulling Through' is the best on GitOR, and that 'I'm Coming Through' is the worst, going so far as to call it an "icky meander".

Well, shoot! Reverse the order, take away the forceful and distasteful adjectives and you have my opinion on those two songs distilled. Sort of.

Dougie, I couldn't disagree more. Maybe I'm too young and inexperienced when it comes to *real* songwriting and composing, but I find 'I'm Coming Through' to be quite charming. And I hardly find 'I'm Pulling Through' to be the best cover on the album. That honour belongs to 'Black Crow'.

And I guess he will never grasp the significance of what he calls "Cryptic wallowing" in 'Abandoned Masquerade'. Not that he ever tried, would be my guess.

Maybe when I'm older and wiser like Dougie I'll know better.

I have to agree with you Coda- loved the pic. The article was a bit harsh. And Karla....I am with you, I am liking Black Crow more and more. I tend to listen to it over and over - it is currently one of my favorites on the CD.

I agree with the comments above...how can this guy get into motives and peoples head about who and what they are? This CD was a complilation of two artists from extremely different genre becoming one...in that she was grieving overwhelming at her loss of 3 dear people...and then she found EC and fell in love etc. and as a result we have GITOR which to me was partly grief therapy...all of this in one year! The songs he attacks were part of her attempt to express her way of coping with her loss...DUH !!! obviously this guy does not know DK and has not heard all the countless interviews where she explains herself, motives for doing GITOR etc. Obviously, as married folks one bounds to influence each other and in this case EC has been greatly enhanced by his new love...and DK was greatly helped by him to test the waters of composing, writing new material to express how she felt...time will tell what new stuff this dynamic duo will bring to the pleasure of listening ears everywhere...great fusion of these two extremely talented people. My personal favorite on this CD is Black Crow...it rocks and is jazzed enough...so let's agree to disagree and as it was mentioned just because this guy wrote this article does not mean what he says is "gospel truth"...that is my two bits...keep on writing DK & EC we trust it will always be with musical integrity and honesty.Can't wait for the next CD...bring it on...ANAE

The guy who authored this piece is asking a question. Only time will tell what the answer to the question will be. On Kiborn DK said she was thinking of doing Cole Porter hits. I didn't get the impression Elvis would be involved. So maybe FrimFramMan and others will get their wish-more of the old DK. I personally find the whole thing so darn interesting-re the Elvis factor.Can't wait to see what the next step will be
