I concur wholeheartedly, scielle.
'Family' and great friend Vicki Gabereau got to introduce Diana to the crowd, reminding us of our gal's humble beginnings (forgoing the mall, apparently, for learning the latest Cole Porter song) among other things. We were treated to a short montage/archival interview clips of Diana after.
Diana also performed the most enchanting rendition of 'Departure Bay'. It was so beautiful, I forgive her for not performing it in Calgary. (She's been listening to more Joni, I think.)
At her acceptance speech, Diana thanked a lot of folks, then said she knew she was forgetting someone...And Vicki, of course, wonderful friend that she is, mentioned something to Diana (guess what, *snicker*)
- and Diana's chagrined 'OH! My husband!...I finally have a reason to thank my husband...because now I have one!"
I'm glad I got home in time to tape that segment, even if the quality will ultimately be crappy with my 'ghetto vision'-rabbit-ears TV.

Steve Greenlee: Ali Larter, the actress who plays Niki on the show (Heroes), could be your twin sister. She looks just like you.
Diana Krall: Poor thing.
