Krall's talent inspiring, humbling

HYANNIS – There were many times during last night’s Diana Krall show at the Melody Tent to think about the inherent unfairness of life.

For example, why does the jazz singer get to be such an astonishing piano player and singer. On the other hand, isn’t it nice that she shares her talents so well with the rest of us?

For more than an hour and a half, Krall and her breathy, low voice flipped through beloved American standards, including “P.S. I Love You” and “Let’s Fall in Love.” She sat at the piano, dressed in a sleeveless black dress and black t-strap high heels that stomped out the beat to 12 songs. No intermission. No stopping.
