I think this was Diana's best performance yet. She did some of the songs from her new CD, but also many from the older CDs. She performed "Frim Fram Sauce" and some of the other songs by Nat King Cole. She also performed Burt Bacharach's "Walk on By" and "The Look of Love."
Drummer Jeff Hamilton performed a great solo in Diana's rendition of "Cheek to Cheek."
This was the largest (over 40 pieces) orchestra Diana has had in any of her Atlanta concerts. It really made a difference in performing Claus Ogerman's arrangments.
I think the low point of the concert was the mention of Obama. Some cheered, but many in the audience (like me) sat in silence. I would prefer that mention of politics be left out of these concerts.
Overall, other than that one thing, it was a great concert. I would have liked to have seen a bigger crowd there, but the the lack of advertising and the bad economy, it was no surprise to me the the venue wasn't completely filled.
