Ottawa Jazz Fest 2005

Postby scielle on 21 Apr 2005, 03:52

Another show added to the schedule - Ottawa Jazz Festival on June 29th.

(Perhaps I'll finally make a trek out to the nation's capital - not a bad pretext to go, eh?) (Yes, never been to Ottawa. I'm starting to think I was destined not to make it there, ever. Every time I plan a trip, something always goes wrong at the last minute. :dunno: And yes, I call myself a Canadian - though I have never been to an NHL game either    )

See here for more festival info:

Well please go. Double check everything to put us on the safe side.

So we French can start a list (we could name it "No Angels", as a thank you hint for Angelique who was the first to answer the call... on concerts fanreports that is).

Please advise,

All the virtues
Dear to heaven
Are fading forever
Before my eyes

Of all these pleasures
Just one remaining
I still love you, my enemy

Thank you Coda, smart lead. But I don't get it, it is too subtle !

So, when you call someone a "french fry", does that mean there's a sexual connotation in it?
Personal joke... Only someone knows what I mean here! ;)

 NO. French fries are to be eaten... and NOT in a sexual matter.

Okay, I'll spell out what I mean. It's all meant in a figurative sense, not a literal sense...and if you look at a slang dictionary, you'll see a lot of listings using food/eating images for sexual images. But I think with the song lyrics of "Peel Me a Grape," each request ("peel me a grape," "skin me a peach," "french me a fry") is a tease, part of foreplay.

Peeled grape

Postby verena on 25 Apr 2005, 13:33

Thank you for bringing this song to my attention, JF422. Was helpful.

But I wish to point out that I never chose the "peeled grape" avatar that keeps showing up to the left of my posts. Potentially a damage to my reputation this is. Bugs me.
(Need to figure out what a URL is to go and get rid of it).

Congrats to Coda for a brilliant explanation, explicit yet so elegant. (Bow).

Good question.

Lots of people wonder and hit trouble (must be a tricky thing).

I only heard what she said : It needs shafafa on the side. Now that one isn’t bad at all.
Particularly with French fries. Ha ha ha

(Really depends on the chef though... Ask DK).
