I don't have a surgery date just yet. The neurosurgeon wants to send me for one more CT. He needs to see if there's been any bone erosion, as well as location of arteries and so on. Depending on how stable the spine is once the tumor has been removed, I may yet require surgical fusion at the C1 or C2 level (uppermost vertebrae in the spine). That would mean I'd lose some mobility in my side-to-side movement. I was fully expecting to be told I'd need surgery to remove the tumor, but the spinal fusion prospect caught me a bit off-guard. I'm praying I won't need it.
