Nikka Costa on Jay Leno

Nikka Costa is a blue-eyed soul singer and a songwriter. She was on Jay Leno a couple weeks back and was incredible to say the least. When her band launched it into overdrive at the end of the song, it was one of the funkiest, head-bobbing grooves I've heard kicked out by a live band in a long time. Saw it too!!! She is hot!!!.....Ordered the CD the next day.."Can'tneverdidnothin'"...The song is Till I Get To You......She is Don Costas daughter. He was an writer, arranger,etc. She has been popular overseas for quite awhile but starting to work stateside.

The bio on her web site talks about her dad. I don't normally read those things, but I found this one to be interesting. I thought there was some sort of Prince connection, but there was no mention of that in the bio.

Ah, very cool! I first heard of Nikka Costa a few years back when her debut CD came out and I loved it. I was sorry the album didn't do better and worried when I hadn't heard anything new in a while. I'm so glad to hear she's back - she's a great singer and a charismatic performer! Thanks for posting, Eric.
