Thanks for the post, Coda. The article helps to put things in perspective.

CBS Sunday Morning had an essay today by someone who was from New Orleans. He spoke about the funeral tradition - the one where a procession starts with slow and sad dirge music, but then bursts into a lively upbeat sound to celebrate life. His point seems to have been that if this music tradition speaks to what New Orleans is made of, it might be in a sad phase right now (and might be for quite awhile), but will eventually reemerge full of life...
