Monheit for Christmas ?

We have talked about Jane on this forum before, but I didn't find an old thread to add this to..... I picked up Monheit's Christmas CD a week or so back and am enjoying most of it. In fact I have tics to see her here in town Monday evening....

If you think Diana is too focused on the 'glamour' aspect of her appeal, then you must agree with me that Jane has gone way over the top !!.... I think she has a great, strong voice, and she is a beautiful woman.... but after watching the DVD side of the CD, I wish she would scale back the 'sexy' stuff and concentrate on the music more.... The first time I saw her live, she just stood and sang... maybe a bit boring, but prefferable to this..... is anyone else still a Monheit fan ?

I had no opinion of Jane. Wasn't familiar with her recordings. But my girlfriend enjoys her stuff and had free tickets to her concert last night here in town. So we went.

I must say, I was not impressed. Most of the tunes were from her new Christmas album, with a few standards sprinkled throughout. She does have an incredible voice, but her renditions just didn't do much for me.

As for the sex kitten stuff, I didn't see anything that was over the top. For the most part, she did just stand there and sing. Jane is beautiful, no doubt. But I was surprised to discover she is...um, how shall I say this...a very full-figured woman. I guess they try to hide that in her press photos.
