Saw Flightplan . Good fun but goes to hell about twenty minutes from the end when a plot twist removes any tension from the plot. Director Robert Schwentke has a wonderful style in his visuals , as already shown in Tattoo (2002).

I've seen Eros Therapie ( pretentious , smug rubbish , too episodic , with lazy performances by all concerned ) and Les Temps qui Changent (excellent , Catherine Deneuve and Gérard Depardieu giving their best performances in years , in a warts-'n-all depiction of contempoary life in French Tangiers) . Later this week I hope to see 13 (Tzameti) .

As usual it's been a pretty good selection , even if they have denied me my latest fix of Monica Belucci by not featuring Bertrand Blier's Combien tu m'aimes? ; hopefully that'll pop up in the new year.

I saw the new Harry Potter movie twice. I really like those. The story is fun and the actual movies get better each time.

Tonight I saw The Polar Express. It was really cute and who doesn't love Tom Hanks?

I saw "Rent" last night. I enjoyed it, but the theatre production was far better.

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." Well done -- it doesn't feel like a longer movie even though it is. But it is "darker" and a little scary for younger kids. (I'm not into violent movies or horror flicks, so even I shielded my eyes a couple times.)

Memoirs of a Geisha.
Disappointing. Why wouldn't they shoot it in Japanese? The phonetic English was just silly and awkward, and whoever wrote the dialogue reduced it to a paltry cinderella story - and the book was so much more than that. It could have been much better.

I just saw "Sarah Silverman - Jesus is Magic" this weekend. Very, very funny - though not appropriate for the staunchly politically correct. Definitely falls into the "guilty pleasure" category.

Off to see "Brokeback Mountain" later this evening... looking forward to it.

Would have been hard because the actresses are Chinese. Very questionable casting decisions...

So I haven't seen any movies yet but I am dying to see "The Squid & The Whale" with Laura Linney and the guy that was Jim Carrey's friend in Dumb&Dumber. I also want to see "Me, You, and Everyone We Know" and "The Family Stone".

I saw Brokeback Mountain on Monday night. It's amazing, people! I highly recommend this beautiful and heartbreaking story. Great direction and great acting by all. Go and check it out!
