Thanks, Coda! This is a great profile of Robert. Lots of information I didn't know, such as his influence on Christian McBride.

The only part I take exception to is:

...his recent work with vocalist Diana Krall and crossover trumpeter Chris Botti are Cadillac gigs that reward a sideman’s bank account more than his critical standing.

But I guess we're kind of use to it
