Giants fans travel well! Plus they were hoping Timmie would regain his form in his home town. Wasn't to be.

I was at the Giants game on Thursday, one day after Matt Cain's perfect game! Can't believe I didn't post something here for mapache to react to.

Where did all the Giant fans come from? They rolled in on the 2010 bandwagon, naturally. Gundy, pay no mind to those clowns. Do as I do, and train your laser-beam-of-hate on hardcore SF devils like Bud.

On a kinder note, enjoy DK tonight, Bud. We're all looking forward to your review...or at least some of the setlist.

I missed Bud's latest post....

Oh yeah, Cain's perfect game. I'm not going to lie. I caught the recap on TV and cursed all that is black-and-orange. But I wasn't pissed about the perfecto. Just mad SF got a W, no matter how it happened. Paraphrasing George Carlin here: "A perfect game! Oh boy. Two guys playing catch for three hours."

Well, if any of you DK Fans (besides Bud, Gundy and I) follow baseball (which you don't), you know the greatest franchise in the history of pro sports, (the team that broke the color barrier, the team of Jackie Robinson and Sandy Koufax and Vin Scully and Fernando Valenzuela...the Boys of Summer...Frank Sinatra's favorite team) the Mighty Dodgers are a big steaming pile of embarrassing sh-t. Not only swept by Bud's Orange-n-Black Demons, but brutalized in three straight shutouts. Our pathetic lineup even made downtrodden Raggamuffin Lincecum look like a demigod. I didn't think it possible, but it has only gotten worse since then. The wheels have come off the Dodger Wagon. I knew it would happen, eventually, to some degree, but not in this spectacularly humiliating fashion. I now leave the rest of the LA bashing to Bud. Speaking of Bud, looks like he spent the past few months stuffing the NL All-Star Team ballot box. Below is the fan-voted starting lineup, with my comments in parens:

C: Buster Posey, San Francisco Giants (I hate Burger King Fielder, but I'd love to see him barrell into Ring-Around-The-Posey and bust his leg...again.)
1B: Joey Votto, Cincinnati Reds (I think this guy is Canadian. Immediate disqualification.)
2B: Dan Uggla, Atlanta Braves (After watching "Deliverance," I have nightmares about brutes like this)
SS: Rafael Furcal, St. Louis Cardinals (An ex-Dodger. Of course. Good player when he's not hurt. But All-Star? Cards' fans must be higher than Lincecum.)
3B: Pablo Sandoval, San Francisco Giants (Hide your daughters, KC, the Fat Rapist Pig is coming to town...and he's hungry! Note: The Mets have been punishing the Dodgers this weekend, and I'm suprised Wright wasn't chosen ahead of FRP. Chalk it up to Bud stuffing the ballot box, again...)
OF: Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers (Please. He's been on the DL half the season. Spot should've gone to someone else)
OF: Carlos Beltran, St. Louis Cardinals (Can't argue with this. I don't follow STL closely, but I know he's having a solid year)
OF: Melky Cabrera, San Francisco Giants (Ugh. Hate to admit it, but this Platano should be there as well.)

In belated sports news, the LA Kings are Stanley Cup Champions!

It should be an interesting game tonight! I was really hoping that Dickey would start for the NL, just to see the reaction of the AL batters; but then again, I want the AL to win so maybe that's a good thing he isn't!
Our one lonely choice for the AL this year is Felix Hernandez and I hope he gets to pitch a couple of innings.......he really is good even though the win/loss record is not where it should be.............if only our hitters could hit! Maybe the second half will be better as we have been reading that some of our young guys may be seeing a trip down to AAA for a bit to see if they can figure out how to hit!
Anyway, it should be a great game......................I've never missed watching this spectacle and truly believe that baseball is the greatest sport!

Go American League tonight!

How 'bout my Giants at the All Star Game! Who says they didn't deserve to be there?

The Nats players didn't too bad either, Bryce Harper's lost ball notwithstanding

By the way, check out the special Giants - Nats game on 13 Aug: http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/sf/t ... sp#sinatra

"Who says they didn't deserve to be there?"

Except for Fat Rapist Pig (Sandoval), not me. You'll have to tell me what happened. I haven't watched an ASG in at least a decade.

And what's with all the Nats love? When the Giants come to DC, it must be strange rooting for both teams at once.

Panda had the first bases clearing triple in ASG history. Strange stat, but true. Melky Cabrera was the MVP. Matt Cain was the winning pitcher. You could say the Giants made a credible showing.

What do I do when the Giants play the Nats? Root for the Giants. Case closed. Wear my Giants gear to the game, too. Actually, I never wear Nationals gear at Nats games, even when the Nats aren't playing the Giants.

AH HA HA HA! After seeing Frank's CLEARLY Photoshopped Giants cap, I haven't stopped laughing for five minutes straight.

Whatever. I'm sure Frank made an appearance at Candlestick and glad-handed all around, but ya gotta admit that Photoshopped SF cap is BEYOND ridiculous. Bud, are you telling me you don't see The Phony?

And this picture is from an official Sinatra Family news site?! HA! Nancy and company must be higher than I am.

FYI: Sickening as it is, Frank was originally a Yanks fan.

BUD: "Panda had the first bases clearing triple in ASG history."

Wow. Awesome. Did Fatso celebrate with a good ol' fashioned rape?

BUD: "Melky Cabrera was the MVP."

Not surprised. That Platano can hit, no doubt. See my notes above.

BUD: "Matt Cain was the winning pitcher."

I hate him, but he's outstanding. I wonder...why you never give props to Kemp, Ethier or Kershaw? I've even gone so far as to acknowledge Roid-Cheater Bonds' amazing abililty, yet you've never (at least as long as I can remember) said anything good about a Dodger. Forget rivalry, I'm talking about pure athleticism. Maybe you should stop listening to homer-douchebags like Krukow and whats-his-face?

Just reading the morning paper, saw the news about the Ichiro trade, and thought of you, Gundy.

Those damn Yankees. Bummer. My condolences to Seattle.

Ah, ha. I've been waiting for you...

Juan-for-Fifteen? He's gone, baby. Leading us to the Promised Land is malcontent Hanley Ramirez. The local joke is that if Frank McFraud still owned the squad, he'd make Hanley wear #99 -- to clear all those Manny Ramirez jerseys out of the warehouse. Those Dodger cholos will buy anything....

Ok. Joke all you want. Keep avoiding the fact that you condemn steroids (it's well documented here on the board), yet somehow still seem to hold Barry "steroid-balloon-head-freak" Bonds in some kind-of high regard. In your book, not mine (I LOVE steroids), he's a CHEATER. It doesn't seem to square-up...

Please, one of these days explain your bizarre, hypocritical logic.

Whatever, it's Dodgers vs Giants this weekend. I just sold Timmy an ounce of Purple Kush. Smoke up, you 4-11 stud.

In honor of the festivities, some Bob Marley:

I think most fans here are 'ok' with this trade.........and that may be hard for others to understand; but as Ichiro said he asked for this trade as he saw the direction the team was heading and it is indeed a 'youth' oriented team building for the future. Ichiro has not been the 'Ichiro' we all fell in love with back in 2001. And I along with many wish him well on his quest for a ring because when it comes down to it that is what he is missing.
If you could have seen the three games against the Yankees you would see how we wish him well.............there will be no animosity and he will be welcome back into the park in the future. He gave several interviews and was very emotional, something we rarely saw in him thru the years. He's also keeping a home in Seattle; something many former Mariners have done as they love the City and it's people.
So the page turns and now it's the young ones that have to take ownership..........we actually have some really good talent, just young, so I for one am excited to see where this goes.

On a sidebar; there is only one player ever traded/signed away in free agency that has been 'booed' and is still 'booed' by the fans in Seattle. He plays for the Yankees at 3rd base. Yes, A-Rod will never be welcomed in Seattle as he left for one reason and one reason only - MONEY. Not a ring, Not to be nearer to family.

And now he's out for 6-8 weeks with a broken hand............he did not get a lot of sympathy here.

anyway, New York is lucky to have Ichiro.........................I hope he does well.

Most Seatlle fans are OK with the trade?! Pardon my French, but F the Yankees! Along with the Giants, they are the Scum of the Earth.

Traitor Ichiro can suck it. He's not winning any Ring with the Yanks. The Rangers are going back to the WS, and probably winning it. You can book that.

A-Fraud is out? Ah ha ha ha!

Don't sweat it. Dodgers will probably blow the next two.

Did Krukow cry tonight?

We have a bad habit of helping unknown pitchers have great outings. Can believe that retread from the Pad's pulled it off. I thought he'd be your version of last year's Giants and Beltran.

Well, paybacks are a b----, as evidenced by this weekend's glorious Dodgers' sweep of SF.

As I write, LA is down (to AZ) by 5 runs in the 9th. So, loooks like we're already starting to p*ss away the effort, as usual.

Retread from the Pad's? Who do you mean? Our only significant Madres retread is Harang (aka Harangutang). He didn't pitch this past weekend.

You mean Hanley Ramirez? He's from the Marlins.

I understand your 'Yankee' rant as I usually can't stand them and I love your 'AFraud' !

It looks like my Mariner team is actually much better off without Ichiro.............look at their record and yes they are not playing against the best teams, but, they are winning at home finally and they are hitting....................I'm here to tell everyone keep an eye on this team of young ones as they are going to make some noise!

and all I can tell all Dodger fans is get ready to hold your breath on Brandon League as he can be absolutely great and then BAM, he'll give up the home run. Can't figure out if he's going to be a closer for LA or a set up man. Also, I will put my money on the Dodgers to win the west at this point!

Yesterday was exciting with all the trades and just trying to figure out what teams were doing. Some of the best moves were the ones that 'didn't' happen!

Anyway, GO MARINERS!
