What a wonderful night! The weather was perfect too.

This was my sixth concert and the best one ever. Diana talked the crowd after each song. There must have been about 25 songs, some that I had never heard before, including, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Waits, and more. There was the old time player piano, which Diana showed the opening for the booze, an organ, and piano. In many songs, she would switch back and forth while playing and singing and did she ever play those ivories. She is just the best. I had never seen anything like it. She was so witty and told many funny stories. She could be a comedian. I first saw in Cleveland, Ohio at the Tri- Jazz Festival Concert in 2000. She was rather quiet, but oh my, what a interesting and talented woman we have now.
We made it and went inside the entrance and a big lady wanted to know what I had in my rather medium-sized bag. I did have a book for Diana to sign, binoculars, and I added a pen too. She said thanks for being honest. I said, thanks for protecting my favorite performer. She ran a wand around Tim. I had heard that security had been every tight at the Beacon Theater in New York City after the tragic Mass. shooting.

We were down on the main floor and next to the bar and very close to the stage. We were to the far right and it made it sometime difficult to see her face. We easily stood up when we were tired of sitting. We were just next to the entrance where we waited for someone to permit us backstage. There were about 20 of us and we wore “after the show passes.” We were inside a nice seating area, and there were many photos of performers who had been there. We saw Elvis Costello. He is playing this Saturday at the Paramount, which Diana mentioned. After about half an hour, in walked Diana and her sister Michele was there with her. What two lovely women.

Tim was taking many pictures that I didn’t realize. I had a book about Diana called, “The Look of Love.” I showed it to her and she said that she never read the book because it was unauthorized. I said really! It had nothing bad in it. She was reluctant to sign it, but asked, you’re not going to sell it on EBay? I said no, so she autographed the book. I had one picture that I showed her of me standing by the many photos I have framed in my kitchen with the Diana Krall tee- shirt. She signed it to Charlotte and other stuff.
It was an unforgettable night and experience. I had told Diana that I awoke at 5:30 A. M. and could not go back to sleep because I was so excited. She said on my!
I took a friends’ suggestion about an early birthday hug. Now, how nice is that?
It took me two hours to far asleep!
What Night! I will never forget it.

I've been trying to shrink the size of your image, but haven't been successful yet. No one minds, right? It's a great picture!

Very nice, Char.

I always meant to buy that Diana biography she signed for you, but never got around to it. You sure the book is called "Look of Love"? I searched for it, and all that pops up is the LOL songbook.

It's probably the Language of Love, by Jamie Reid. He used to visit this forum once in awhile:
