Diana hadn’t played this venue previously, but it’s almost across the street of where she’s played before. I wasn’t aware of the proximity beforehand, so I worried that I’d entered a wrong address into my GPS since I driving through familiar territory.

I arrived about two hours early to avoid traffic delays and with the hope I could move up to a better seat. Figured I had a good chance, as I was solo, since my wife didn’t want to go. She was at the Strathmore concert in the spring :-(

Anyway, I was moved up to row E, for an extra $15. However, someone arrived and we’d been assigned the same seat. My new ticket was handwritten, so obviously the box office agent had made a mistake. Let’s just say that didn’t surprise me. I dashed up to try to go the box office, but there was a line, and the concert was close to starting. So I decided to go back to Row E and take my chances. There were a surprising number of open seats, so it turned out OK. But I kept my eye out for arrivals until about 30 minutes into the concert. No problem, fortunately.

The set list, accompanying the videos, was the same as last time, so there’s no need to repeat that. But her solo set on the upright was a little different. Last time, she asked for audience requests going right into it, and she played Grape. This time, she jumped right into Let’s Face the Music, then Grape, then Fly Me to the Moon. After Moon she took requests. She listened and responded, but it seems like she wanted to play Fats Waller. So My Feet’s Too Big won out. She finished the solo set with Glad Rag Doll.

She finished with two encores rather than three from last time. They were Simple Twist of Fate and Wallflower. She could have just been tired, or had to get going since she was heading out for the final stop the following night. She made a quick getaway. I went to get a glass of wine before heading home, and when I walked by the venue about 90 minutes later, her buses were gone.

Enjoyed the concert as usual! I wasn’t too distracted by the videos since I was pretty close up.

Here’s a link to the following night’s concert, which captures things pretty well. Except, Diana didn’t play the Fender Rhodes. I can’t imagine she actually did that!

Thanks for the review, Bud. Nice going on the seat upgrade. I've tried that trick at a few venues over the years (not for a DK show). And yeah, if you're solo there's usually a good chance of an open seat up close. For me, it has never worked with a pair.

Anyway, you sure she didn't play the electric Fender? She played it on Temptation during both of the shows I saw.

I went to get a glass of wine before heading home

Drunk driver alert!
