I haven’t seen a show on this tour yet, so wasn’t quite prepared for what I saw in Oakland last night. I knew about the videos etc. from reading reviews of course, but my, what a hoot! That show was by far the most fun I’ve ever had at a DK concert.
I didn’t keep track of the set list, but it was much more varied than most other DK shows I’ve been to (a great thing!), and longer (thankfully; the last few shows I’ve been to have been hardly over 1hr – this went over 2).
Stand-outs include an absolutely thrilling version of Temptation, Case of You (always love that one), Ophelia and lots of stride piano and between-song chatter.
She also did Ain’t Nobody’s Business If I Do and Peel Me a Grape (both requests).
Also – a lovely tribute to Jesse Winchester (I Wave Bye Bye), with a dedication to his wife and family.
