Diana needs a Blog.

Postby TheViolinSkirt on 23 Apr 2005, 20:34

My opinion, but I'd enjoy reading a blog on her website. (That's web-log journal for those of you lay-persons.) While she's on tour she could pop in and say hello or give little stories about the cities she's in, yadda yadda.

was that a sexist remark, Lindsay ???...... shouldn't that be 'layperson' ???... ;)

I agree, however, a blog would be a nice addition..... maybe you should make the suggestion directly to M......

Nah, don't think so. Would be very nice, but don't think she's a bloggin' kinda gal; it's a bit much to ask, methinks. Not that I wouldn't love it though.
BTW, Anthony Wilson has a blog. As does Geoff Keezer - it makes for great reading, you should have a look-see. I also read Jann Arden's sometimes. Much fun, and some interesting insights. EC used to have a great Q&A and Journal section on his website about 2 years ago, which was brilliant. Got a lot of great music recommendations from there, plus his writing is so entertaining (looking forward to those books).

 Greg, I didn't even notice, honestly. I've made my edit to be non-gender biased.

PS. Isn't Jann Arden hilarious?! That's kind of why I thought it'd be great to read Diana's thoughts.

Blog

Postby verena on 24 Apr 2005, 04:12

Diana's comments to journalists are hilarious. And she could use a blog.

But she'll never have the GUTS to do it ! Nor the interest, to begin with.

And how could I forget  amongst all those mentioned above, to include the Oscar Peterson Journal. New entry (Chapter 26) was just posted earlier today.

I would love to read a Diana blog. She visits such interesting places and plays for so many people, I'd bet it would be interesting reading.

Don't think she'd ever do it though. She's a bit shy - unless you get her talking about musicians she admires - then she goes on and on. (Just ask KelSax - I watched them talk about musicians for a while outside the stage door at one of her concert venues.)

... Sorry for my rambling; just reminiscing what a great night it was meeting Diana. :)

you lucky girl

Indeed. I know I'm a lucky girl. It's quite a thrilling moment meeting someone you admire so much and actually have a pleasant experience talking with them. She's a class act and a really nice lady. It must also run in the family, because Michelle is just as classy and kind.

Blog

Postby verena on 27 Apr 2005, 19:30

Had second thoughts, and wish to clarify what I said up above on the blog topic.

It is obvious to me that DK has guts, a hell of a lot of courage and boldness. But it is also quite certain that she will not draw from these resources, to tackle something significant that she doesn' think is right for her.

Besides, I have a feeling that she would not be who she is, if she came up with a blog any time soon. And I like the Girl. Plus as an artist I absolutely love her. Therefore, I had rather not see a blog.

What would be LOVELY, and not impossible, just a little bit of a pain, well, would be for her to come over here now and then and talk to us.
(You know, on a clear day you feel like being good to the fans, Michelle is busy, so what the heck you shoot a couple of lines yourself).
Still, would be a lot to ask. I am not gonna do it. :|

(Nah, not a forgotten standard; It's Diana freaking out to POP, cause sometimes it may feel exactly right).

I can't imagine someone who values her privacy as much as DK writing a blog.

I think everyone here at the forum knows this. But it's nice to wonder what cities she's in, how she enjoys them, which audiences pleased her, etc... We all just can't get enough of her, ya know? She's the best.

Oh sure, it'd be fun. But I think I have a better chance of being DK's regular touring drummer than we do of ever seeing a DK blog.

Hey, that's not a bad idea! ;)
