The Tragedy of The Big Easy -New Orleans

Postby The Fox on 30 Aug 2005, 23:35

:? The Big Easy is literally gone. New Orleans the home of jazz, blues What a great time I had there at a convention several years ago.
Most of the people in New Orleans are not associated with the tourist trade. They are not rich. Where do you go when you have no house, when an entire city has been destroyed, when your place of work is gone? What a tragedy! Let all the Gods of the universe help these people and those of Biloxi Ms. The rest of you please "Count Your Blessings"

I think I heard someone from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) call it the biggest natural disaster in U.S. history.

It may be little, but we could contribute to the Red Cross for disaster relief.

The devastation in Mississippi and Louisiana is beyond words. I live in Brevard County florida and what we endured in last years horrible season is nothing compared to this. My heart is deeply saddened as I watch these people who survived, they have nothing and no where to go. All we can do is give what we can, whatever it may be. :(

God Bless everyone out there

It is just unbelievable. Beyond comment.

Remi, I believe Lucky from the old site was from New Orleans. He was the author of the famous "top 10" lists. Do you still keep in touch with him?

Prayers to rescuers and those rescued alike.

In mentioning Lucky, (I can't remember whether or not our "top 10 list" pal did reside in New Orleans or not) it occured to me that there probably are board members who live in the affected States.

I fear I'm not as involved with the MB as I used to be, and therefore have totally lost track of things like where folks are on the planet. Can anyone out there try to make a list of people and places ? It would be great if we could get some idea of who's out there, and we can add them to the list of 'loved ones' we can direct our thoughts and prayers. They certainly need our thoughts and prayers at this time!
