Kralloholics Unite - 2006 !!!!

Postby jazzanddianafan on 10 Sep 2005, 02:40

I will bring this topic up one more time and then, if no there is no real enthusiasm, let it die a dignified death....

We have talked before in this forum about a 'get together' of DK fans. A place where we could meet each other, exchange stories and experiences, and MAYBE even include a DK sighting at the same time...

In my mind, one of the detracting factors has been removed now that we can order tickets thru the fan club to a DK event in advance of official sales... this means that if we were to coordinate a get together with a scheduled concert, we could enjoy each other's company AND Diana at the same time. Now I know that a major draw to this kind of event would be if Diana herself were to join us or allow us to visit her backstage...... while Michelle has never promised anything along those lines, she has not precluded the possibility that it COULD happen either..... I personally think it MIGHT be a possibility......

HOWEVER, we would have to be content that if Diana did not allow such access, we would still enjoy the chance to meet each other and take in a great concert as a group.....

I am asking for a SERIOUS show of interest in attending a 2006 concert (assuming of course, that Diana tours in 2006 !) as a group, in this fashion... I would be willing to coordinate lodging arrangements as a group - flight arrangements would be on your own - and even order tickets as a group - assuming the clubs pre-sale privileges extend into 2006.

When her 2006 schedule is announced we would have to act fast.... so maybe a listing of locations we would be willing to travel to would be helpfull....

So what i am looking for now, like I say, is a very serious show of real interest in this..... if the interest exists, I will do all I can to help bring it off.... you all tell me...

Without making any firm commitment, I would be interested. Of course, it all depends on where, when and how much the costs involved may be. But I'll tell you, I've had nothing but great experiences with meeting some of the online friends I've made here.

If this idea of a group concert falls with a great thud, you could always take the approach that SaxLix, TRX-C and I did: we planned a pre-concert meeting, went to the venue and then waited outside after the concert to meet Diana & Co., as well as Michelle. Of course, we looked like a group of stalkers, but the Krall sisters and the band were very gracious in chatting with us and taking photos. LOL!

I would be interested if my schedule permits and depending on location, cost, etc.

And you know... Buffalo is 30 mins from everywhere.

Seriously. If you think about it, Buffalo is a central location for Americans/Canadians and even those across the pond. I suggest Buffalo be the hot spot...we just have to make sure Diana knows it's a hot spot. I'm not biased either. I swear.

Anytime anywhere, I shall do my best endeavours to be there...

Not too far please, twelve hours flight is a max for me now (from wherever I'll be then).

Keep us posted, and many thanks to you, Jazzanddianafan ! :)

Buffalo might work for me too!

My wife's best friend lives in Rochester, and she turned her friend on to Diana a few years ago...

Sounds like a top idea!

It'll depend on DK's tour schedule, of course.

Depending on where and all....I might be able to convince my wife to let me go.

As to where - how about Boston - home of Diana's Almost Alma - Berklee School of Music.

My vote is for Portland, OR or Seattle, WA or even somewhere in CA. I don't know, less travel for me. ;)

Why not the Vancouver area? We could all see Diana in her hometown - she puts on an extra special show when she's in the area.

Wadaya mean Noangel, with "puts on a special show" ? :D

I take this opportunity to point out that I am the only one who did not put conditions as to costs or reunion being close to where I live...

But now I'm gonna add one : I'll be happy to meet you guys, but if the occasion is a concert and if we get snubbed, meaning we are not allowed backstage  I AM NOT WAITING OUTSIDE GUYS !!! I am going straight to the hotel bar !!!

She seems to have a really great raport with her hometown crowd and she looks like she has a great time performing there. I traveled to Vancouver last year to see Diana in concert and I thought it was one of the best concerts I'd ever seen.

(But then she upstaged herself at the Sonoma Jazz Festival this year by putting on her best show yet.) ;)

Well, I am impressed with the response..... 130+ looks at this thread and 16+ replies, mostly that you are interested..... if I am reading everyone correctly, it looks like the main choices are concerts in the Pacific Northwest of the US (including maybe Vancouver) and/or the New York area (including Toronto)..... if that is accurate, I will kind of keep that in mind as DK's 2006 agenda is announced....

As I said we will have to act kind of fast when the time comes..... I would be willing to guarantee, with my credit card, the number of rooms we need in advance - of course your actual expenses will be up to you to cover !. I would also be willing to reserve the required number of tickets (I may need help here due to limits on orders per transaction)...

As far as Diana meeting us goes, as I said, we need to be happy with just meeting each other and seeing her in concert.... and IF we get backstage, that is a BONUS !!!!

I will keep track of those who have expressed interest and will contact you either thru PM or private email (if I have it) when the time comes....

It will be fun to see the outcome of this !.... hope to see you all in 2006 !!!

Buffalo works for me ..... I'm down there at least once a year for NFL. Of course Toronto works even better.

Great game on Sunday! So far, I'm really impressed with Nolan's ingenuity and play calling. And Bryant Young played the game of his life!

I gave up my season tickets when I thought I was going to stay in Idaho permanently. Now I'm back in SF but I didn't get tickets for this season. I'm considering season tickets for next year, but the jury's still out until I get a better indication of how they play this year. I'm crossing my fingers for a banner year.
