I just got an email from the fanclub site about Yoshi's and it looks like I'm able to purchase early. I won't be able to get down there  , but to those of you who do I'm very jealous! enjoy!

Don't believe the e-mails, folks! There are no pre-sale tickets for the Yoshi's performances. I had trouble getting pre-sale tickets through the link provided in the e-mail, so I decided to call Yoshi's directly. The man on the other end of the phone said very plainly, "there are no pre-sale tickets for the Diana Krall shows". And he has no idea why the e-mails were sent out because no one checked with Yoshi's beforehand.

A bit frustrating on my end because I thought the tickets were as good as in my hands.

Buggar! :anger:

Even though I can't go, I decided to try the pre-order and it doesn't work. Looking at where the email came from (Verve), tells me this 'presale' wasn't really a 'presale', but just another marketing ploy gone wrong.

I hope all who get tickets tomorrow have a good time at the show!

Thanks for checking on this Ang. Very disappointing that we're not really getting a shot at advance tickets :x

Yep, I agree. Very frustrating. I'll just cross my fingers and hope for success with tomorrow's sale. I have no doubt they'll sell out quickly.

Good luck to anyone else purchasing tickets tomorrow!

What the hell was that? Advance ticket sales over? In 20 seconds? Geez.

Outrageous. I went to Starbucks over lunch time to be ready to go when the tickets hit the streets. I refreshed my screen periodically, and exactly on the hour I got in. I even had a select quantity screen, but by the time I put in "2" and checkout, it was sold out! :x

Anyone have any luck?
I think I know what I did wrong. I was in the system right at 10am. Selected 2 tix for one of the Sat shows. Instead of going to the checkout, I went to put 2 more tix in my basket for a Fri show. That show didn't even give me a "select quantity" screen. Ok, so I went to checkout with my 2 Sat tix and got the "advance sale over" notice. Elapsed time: 20 seconds...if that.

I remember having to buy Yoshi's tix on ebay last time.

Congrats Ang and mapache61! I tried to get through on the phone until about 10:35 (west coast time), and couldn't get in, then I had to get back to work. I left Starbucks at about 10 after, since I didn't foresee anything coming open. Guess I should have waited just a little longer.

I called a few hours later on a whim, but get how Yoshi's answered:

"Hello, Yoshi's. Diana Krall tickets are sold out. How may I help you?"

I may have to check on eBay, but its hard to pre-plan a trip to California. Hopefully she'll be booked in a reasonsably small indoor venue on the East Coast somewhere. At least I have my Wolf Trap tickets!

Sorry to hear it, Bud. After getting those Fri night tix (about 15min after the on-sale started), I tried again. I was able to "select quantity" for the Sat/10pm show, but when I proceeded to checkout, the "advance sale over" thing popped up again. Man, what a screwy system Yoshi's has. Very frustating.

Definitely check ebay. For the last Yoshi's run, I picked up a pair for $300. Not good, but not as high as other prices I saw.

Man, what a screwy system Yoshi's has.

No kidding. After booking 5 tickets online yesterday morning with relatively no trouble, I got a phone call from the box office manager at Yoshi's last night around 6. He said that they had troubles with their ticketing website and that there was supposed to be a limit of 4 tickets purchased at one time. After much charming and cojoling (not to mention the promise that I plan on attending the show and to not sell my tickets through an agency or eBay for profit), he decided to let me keep my 5 tickets. I must have a guardian angel looking out for me! I would've hated having to give up one of the tickets I purchased.

Definitely screwy...

What's interesting is that at the time of this post, you can't even find Diana on the purchase tickets list anymore. I'm going to check in periodically - who knows if they've called other people like they called Ang and tickets become available...

"promise that I plan on attending the show and to not sell my tickets through an agency or eBay"

I see you're in the Bay Area, imnoangel. But I'm curious, were you able to have the tickets mailed to you? I'm in SoCal and wanted mine sent by mail, but even though I tried and tried, I could not de-select the "Will Call" option.

Oh well. We can't wait for the show and pray we don't get stuck near the back of the venue this year, like we did for the GTOR warm-ups. Sat at a front row table directly in front of DK for the New Years 98/99 show. Now that was sweet.

Yeah, especially if it was mine!

What bull!! I bet he wanted to get the ticket for himself. I never heard of there being a four tix limit. Hmmmm..... that dawg don't hunt.

My tickets were through will call too. I don't think they're giving anyone the option of receiving tickets before the shows.

I think we got it all worked out with the 5 tickets. I think the box office manager and I are becoming intimate friends after all of the phone calls between us. Truly, I have NEVER had to jump through so many hoops to get tickets for any show. I'm really disappointed with Yoshi's.

I think you're right about tickets being will call only. I've been looking to get "scalped" for a pair of Sat seats, but am finding nothing.

"I'm really disappointed with Yoshi's."
I hear ya, but the good news is that Diana still wants to play a small venue like this. Should be a great show. Enjoy!
