A new star-studded Christmas tradition is budding outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. For the third consecutive year, Vancouver-based developer Amacon will host a Christmas-tree-lighting celebration with free live entertainment.

On Tuesday evening, special guests Diana Krall and Elvis Costello will lead about 1,000 celebrants in a countdown before flipping the switch and officially lighting the tree.

[...]

The celebrity couple of Krall and Costello won't be crooning at the event, which starts at 5:30 p.m., but they will step to the stage at 6:44:50 p.m., along with former MLA Sindi Hawkins, to lead a 10-second countdown to light up the tree.

Amacon volunteers will be on hand, passing out goodies and running craft tables for kids. The entertainment will include special performances from the Vancouver Children's Choir and the Arimasu Taiko Drummers. The B.C. Lions, the B.C. Lions cheerleaders, the Vancouver Giants and Santa will engage with the crowd, while Rock 101's Bro Jake MCs the event.

Looks like Michelle was there too, accepting a cheque for VGH's Krall Centre along with Diana and Elvis.

Oooh, lovely!

Thanks for continuing to share all these lovely newsworthy pieces about DK, scielle. I think I speak for everyone when I say it is much appreciated.

Steve Greenlee: Ali Larter, the actress who plays Niki on the show (Heroes), could be your twin sister. She looks just like you.

Diana Krall: Poor thing.

Scielle: Thanks for the photos and video. Nice to see Michelle there, too. (They are two beautiful sisters!)

Hey, Remi! Nice to see your name again on the message board! Hope you're doing well.

And a general comment to some unknown graphic designer: I love the logo for the Canadian Press...how the red parts of the Canadian flag were morphed into quotation marks. Very clever!

Coda,

Wish I was here and participating more often as I was doing, but looks like "time is running out" for me...

Anyway, even if i am not around, I'm still watching the board. :)

Remi, I hope you're doing well. When you mentioned that "time is running out" for you, I hope you're not dealing with a serious illness.
